well hey everybody welcome to another

episode

of master the nec where we talk about

the national electrical code all things

electrically related and some things

sometimes not so electrically specific

related but an opportunity for me to

talk about something that's happening

and i promised quite a bit ago and i

wanted to just do an announcement to

make sure that everybody knew that it

was here

in case you're interested now over the

last year year and a half

electric code academy has grown by leaps

and bounds

we're excited about the number of

programs we can offer to the students

both in our residential our commercial

our industrial

our grounding and bonding electricity

in motor control and there's just a

bunch of different courses that

that we offer and again they're not just

for like apprentices and most of the

people that purchase our residential

commercial industrial grounding and

bonding

are already licensed so what they're

trying to do is

gain that extra edge so that they

understand general practices of

residential coupled with code obviously

we throw code in there

and a lot of companies will buy it as a

package and they'll offer to their

employees

in order to make sure that everybody's

on the same page like if

if you have 10 employees and they're all

in the residential program they have

their own console

their grades are done and sent to an

administrator every month

or actually every week if that's what

the administrator desires and it's our

that's called our corporate accounts

but what it does is upon request to have

a corporate account

then you can you can have a individual

who's designated

as your contact and what happens is you

can get the grades for your students or

your employees

and the point being is that when they

understand

and everybody's on the same page then

the chances are the installation

will be everything will be on the same

page and there's less chance of errors

and again it kind of streamlines and

helps get everybody in the same path

so that's the majority of what those

products are sold for and they're doing

very well

from the commercial side uh again the

people that are doing residential and

commercial

it's probably are you know that in

grounding and bonding is probably number

one drivers

and of course we have our you know our

very popular

fast tracks exam preparation program and

coupled with that obviously we do the

wednesday night

training for the exam prep folks uh is

well that's not part of the program

that's just a bonus

but one thing we're excited about we

promised and i promised it last year and

it just didn't work

it just hadn't worked out until this

point uh but

basically what we've done is we have

incorporated an affiliate program

now you might be saying why in the world

would i be involved in an affiliate

program well if you're the guy in your

company

who signs up other people in your

company then

you're gonna get training anyway why not

make money on that so our affiliate

program was designed not only for that

aspect of it but again for those that

are active bloggers

posters uh facebook uh any of the social

media platforms

um and you want good education

and and that's what we offer and we've

been very successful at it and then very

well known you can google it you can

look in the front of the code book

name is there people are very familiar

with our products and what we offer

uh we're partnered up with some very

heavy hitters when it comes to cengage

and

other types of providers uh our lms

background

a backbone i should say not background

lms backbone

is actually very solid the uptime is

there every student gets their own

console every algorithm is

is verified we get feedback so

all the tools there be successful now

whether or not you utilize these tools

is totally on you but

but the tools are there so with the

benefit of that type of

structure it lends itself to say well

do i need to further my knowledge now

first things first

our programs are not designed to give

credit for anything not pre-licensing

credits they're not continuing education

although we do have a portal for

continuing education and a real

interactive map that you can find your

continuing education

the affiliate program doesn't include

ceus

because that's with our partnership but

all of our courses are available

through the affiliate program and so we

feel it is

there's a lot of affiliate programs out

there that are offering things like two

percent three percent four percent

five percent commission uh we're

offering ten percent commission as a

base

now the ten percent commission is uh

you're going to get your own

portal you'll get your as you sign up

it's free um one thing you can't do is

you can't use the affiliate program in

order to use it to purchase your own

products like you want to buy a course

and you're thinking well

i'll just use the affiliate program to

get a discount that's not going to work

because the system's not going to allow

you to do that

and it also doesn't allow you to do it

through another affiliate if you're a

registered

affiliate um but that's never the real

intent of an affiliate program anyway

the whole intent of an affiliate program

is for you to promote it

so that you can make money and of course

if you believe in the training

and you can share with other people so

they can get better trained on the nec

or even residential or commercial and it

just tests your knowledge but again what

i find is it

helps everybody be on the same page

right

that's that's what i find that it does

the the best

in the program i like the grounding and

bonding keeps everybody understanding

the minimum

requirements for grounding and bonding

those type of things so they're

knowledge based courses they are not for

any pre-licensing credits

we're not really interested in that

they're not for continuing education

credits

these are knowledge based courses okay

and we probably pretty much made that

straight clear up front since we started

this

adventure many years ago um now do i do

continuing ed on

on sites and in in person

for continuing it absolutely but our

online other than our partnership for

continuing ed

everything else is basically knowledge

based courses

and that's what we're about we're we're

all for these people that

that really want to gain more knowledge

of electricity

more knowledge of the code that's what

we're here for we're not

really in the business of giving

credit now if you're somewhere that

they'll take credit for it

and you complete the course we're more

than happy to give you a certificate of

completion

upon request and you finish all the

units and everything in it

we're more than happy to do that um so

that is something you'd have to contact

us directly and you might use it for

raise or promotion or however you want

to use it that's totally up to you but

it's not going to be used for licensing

or pre-licensing that type of thing

so let's talk a little bit about the

affiliate program

so the affiliate program gets you you

get your own portal you sign up for free

uh you get your own unique link and you

share it everywhere you want uh

and the actual cookie process is a

14-day cookie process

upon request that can be increased to a

30-day cookie

uh you'd have to let us know but

typically the 14-day cookies all you

would have

and if you don't know what a cookie is

basically it stores a visit

on the computer so that if they come

back you come look at a product and they

come back five days later and buy it

you're gonna get credit for it

you have your own console you get to see

what the payouts are you get to see what

you've earned

uh all those type of things you get

unique links to specific products so you

can offer a specific product maybe

target a a blog or a newsletter

or a post and you want to promote a

specific product say you want to get the

the biggest bang for your commission

buck

then you maybe would target the bundles

now the bundles being 8.99 you're

getting 10

of that okay there you go so there's

different ways that you can target it

your console allows you to do that

allows you to customize how you promote

your affiliate

link um all of that is tracked

and so the payouts are pretty simple we

we do payouts per paypal

and it goes straight to you so you do

have to have a paypal account or you can

choose to get paid by check

but most people do paypal because it's

pretty quick and seamless

um and everybody should have a free

paypal account by now

um so talk a little bit about the

commission structure because people ask

because we are selling at tons of

courses

why would you get into the game it's

gift money i mean

you're giving a lesson you're teaching

somebody you're becoming part of our

team

but we're gonna do all the work you just

make the commission

so it starts out as 10 and once you've

generated

a minimum of 75 dollars in your

commission structure

then you'll get the payout which comes

within uh

10 business days uh of the moment that

you trigger

your threshold which is the 75. um now

when you have a payout

and you get a payout of you reach the

threshold where you've reached 250

worth of payouts then your percentage

will increase

one percent for each additional 250

worth of historical payout so you have

the ability to go all the way up so

there's

there's up to after that there's up to

10 positions of payout

additional one percent until you get to

20 and 20

as your is the cap currently on our

program

now there is an option that's not

necessarily available online this is for

the

people that do a lot of blogging or

posting or have a

large audience we have what's called a

buy-in program

and basically that allows you to have a

three-year partnership

fixed 25 commission uh

but there is an upfront fee in order to

get that what's called the

the buy-in and that is 2500

uh and so you can do the math and see

how many you got to sell but that's for

the people that sell

large quantities or maybe a large

company that has literally hundreds of

employees and they want to offer it that

way then they become a partner

and they're going to get 25 back

on their payouts so um that is called

the buy-in program and we don't really

promote that online so if anybody hears

that that has a large company

who is planning on having a large

turnkey educational program then they

might be interested in that locked

25 buy-in so basically our programs are

affordable anyway

but this allows you to actually have a

return back

of 25 on every course say so and that's

the different things that we have

in the affiliate program so this would

also apply to anything that's on our

website

other than continuing education so this

is because that's already

dramatically discounted but it would be

any of our courses

it would be our p tabs if you're

interested in the p tabs that's uh

if you're that type of thing so anything

else that we would offer on the course

this would be available for you to be

able to do that

also webinars that we promote in the

future we're going to be promoting

through the course as a purchase

rather than just a link on a page so

that again would also apply because that

would be considered a product

so you would get a commission on that as

well so that's the structure

that we're putting in place if you have

uh and you just click on it and there's

the structure a little bit uh there's

terms and conditions you can read

there's payout schedule you can read all

of it's transparent

it's all right there the reason we don't

let people use their own affiliate link

because

the intent of an affiliate program is to

help promote us

you help you make money help promote us

and we all make money together and we

educate people not to simply use it to

try to get a 10

discount so you're not allowed to do

that and

uh if you do it and it gets past the

system then your payout just won't pay

out

so you're aware of that so it doesn't

benefit you any because you're not going

to get a discount when you purchase a

product so

probably not the best thing to do but i

believe the system is now set up that

won't allow you to do that when we first

started it kind of was a

we didn't have everything set up but uh

of course

uh now everything is set up so it

shouldn't allow you to do that so you

can't use your own affiliate link and

you can't use somebody else's affiliate

link if you're an affiliate

right that type of thing so um

what else to add about it um so yes it

covers our residential

it covers our commercial it covers

our industrial it covers our grounding

and bonding course

it covers electricity 101 and

any other program that we add and again

i'm excited to say we will have a couple

other programs

that we'll be offering probably in

right now we're trying to work on a pv

photovoltaic course

but right now it's not where we want to

be

but there's other things courses that

we are going to be adding in the future

and they're all be available through

uh our site but you being an affiliate

you can offer

any of these products and you're an

affiliate

and you're a part of the team and if

you're doing a high volume

and you want to make more commissions

immediately then

you know you have to make make that

investment so kind of give you an idea

for those that do the buy-in

right let's say that you're 350 of

course i'm just

saying that's what it is so 350 dollars

of course and the buy-in okay this is

again not the normal affiliate program

this is for those that do high volume

then 300 times 25

is 87.50 so if you think about that 2500

and you divided by 87.50 okay

you have to sell 28. 28

and you will break even okay so if it's

a company and you're doing high volume

that's not a lot

after that you'll get every sale you do

you'll get 87.50

now what if you do the 8.99 program or

you have people because that's the best

value out there anyway

nobody can beat that value you get every

one of our courses

so at 8.99 times 25 percent

that's 224.75

and all you're doing is promoting

something that's going to help other

people learn

and if you're in a course in a company

think about that's kind of a deduction

off of the cost

to your employees if you all are going

to pay for it anyway so we do allow that

under the buy-in program so it won't

take long to recoup

so with this case the scenario is you

might have a company that's got 100

employees

and they want to give employees a

residential commercial

grounding and bonding maybe the three

they're the three they really want to

key in on they don't need all of them

but those are the three keys

and so they realize that if you bought

the courses individually

it's going to cost you much more than

buying the bundle so it's

the best value out there and the other

thing is you get access to it under the

bundle for two years instead of one year

so this kind of creates your own

internal training program

inside of your company that is a

two-year training program

again many people argue this do we offer

enough training to our employees

because once they get their license and

they get out in the field the only thing

they're required to do is continuing

education

but how do we know that everybody's on

the same page how do we know that

everybody's following the same course of

action

so the books that we utilize are ones

that i helped author

so i'm very intimate with things like

residential and the commercial and

the grounding and mining type of books

so it's really streamlined

to being uh perfect for that licensed

individual whether they're a master

german

it keeps everybody on the same page it

also allows you to create

positions where you can give people

raises promotions based on their

course activity and their grades and

their dedication to understanding the

course material

and obviously we share all that

information with you as

whoever the administrator would be for

the company but that's where somebody

might use a buy-in now the only other

person that would use a buy-in maybe is

somebody that's a very active blogger

that has a

a lot of followers a good example might

be somebody like

dustin electrician you has over 200 000

followers

um it would behoove him to offer an

affiliate program

like ours uh because again this is what

we do

and he would take advantage of that and

be able to put offer a quality product

to all of his uh followers so that's a

great example of an influencer who might

benefit from an affiliate program

um so anyway that's our affiliate

program that's what it's all about

we're excited about finally bringing it

it i remember talking about this

probably a year and a half ago two years

ago and i promised that i would have it

out for 2020 and then of course

covet hit and it kind of pushed a lot of

things on the back burner

um but again our growth in the last year

has been phenomenal uh and so

this this affiliate program is a way to

say look if you believe in our program

why not help you make some money and i

can tell you right now

in our 350 dollar cost most people know

that our lms fees are over a hundred

dollars just flat and of course then you

think about enough that time that

we personally put into answering

questions

doing the actual wednesday nights uh

personally

answering questions and competency

reviews to help people understand in the

number of email

that the amount we make doesn't equate

to the time that we put in okay and yet

you're going to take a portion of that

you're going to take 10

of that and of course every time you

reach a 250 threshold

you're going to get a one percent

increase and it's going to cap at 20

percent

okay that's if you just come in for the

free join us

um and we pay out again every time you

reach 75

as a threshold you're going to get a

payout now if you do more in a month

you're going to get a

bigger payout but it but the minimum is

75 so you have to accumulate 75 for the

pay

before it initiates payout um but then

of course we offer the buy-in if you're

a large volume person

then you have that option again but that

is a buy-in so you're buying in as a

partnership

and it's a three-year partnership so

anyway that's that's what our affiliate

program is all about if you have any

out there looking for electrical

education people that are savvy can

and basically create your own electrical

nothing

but if you know how to position yourself

well on the internet and get on in the

search engines and

promote it on blogs and everything you

can make money

doing nothing and we do all the work and
