Electrical Exam Preparation | Reason #4

well hey everybody welcome back to our
reasons for joining the fast tracks
program
now up to this point we've learned that
the first reason was we have over a
thousand comprehensive questions
to help you study the national
electrical code and they simulate
a real exam environment we also learned
that we have some of the best
illustrations and graphics in the
industry in our fast tracks program
everything's called out it's very clear
the graphics are lifelike and it
really helps you learn the national
electrical code because you start
tickling all those senses right
the visual you you start to see all the
call outs and it makes it easy to
understand
well we looked also at the benefit of
the third reason
and that was calculations our process
really does break calculations down and
again for some people that is
really a tricky area and we make it so
easy to understand
but we're here at reason number four to
join our fast tracks program so
let's look at it and you've heard me
talk about this for many years now you
can get books
you can get dvds but they really don't
give you the
immersive interaction that our program
gives
but here's something else now for years
i've told people
create flash cards for example article
210
branch circuits on the other side put
brand circuits do this for all important
articles
sections tables definitions
anything that will help you better
understand the national electrical code
but better yet let me show you what this
is all about
so here you see our fast tracks program
and i want to show you a
powerful feature utilizing the flash
card program
okay so very powerful feature so i'm
going to take me
and i'm going to make me travel all the
way over here
because i want to show you an important
feature in your fast tracks program
you'll notice down here at the bottom
right it's called flash cards
now you've heard me talk about making
flash cards they are critical to really
understanding the national electrical
code
so i'm going to click on that and i'm
going to show you now
in here you've got flashcards for every
unit in our program
so you have the introduction definitions
boxes and enclosures
they correspond with our units within
the fast track
so let's just do an example let's go to
let's say
load calculations so in low calculations
for example calculated load for each
laundry circuit in a dwelling unit now
as you go through the program you'll
you'll realize that we're talking about
1500 va
so you click it and remind you it's 1500
va so these flash cards are designed for
you to work through
click another one appliance okay well
these utilization equipment
they come in standardized sizes like
washing machines
garbage disposals click appliance there
you go
utilization equipment built in standard
sizes and types
we have flash cards that are embedded
throughout the course
but here's another neat thing i like to
put up here in unit one
which is some general definitions and
explanations like nrtl which is
nationally recognized testing laboratory
but here's what i like to do remember i
told you about the importance of
creating flashcards
you can create your own check this out i
go down here where it says create a card
i click it and right here let's say i
want to create
a flash card because i want to remember
the equipment grinding conductor table
250.122 okay so i can put table
250.122 and then down here
i can put sizing equipment
grounding conductors
and that is a table and so actually i
can put look
how about this table for
sizing equipment granite conductors then
click save
now what you've done is you created a
flash card and you can create
unlimited numbers of flashcards again i
recommend that you do these
for articles i recommend you do these
for various
uh tables for definitions
uh anything that that you feel would be
really good to test yourself on a
regular basis
that's what flash cards are all about
they're included in our program
unlimited number so what's table 250.122
this is a table for sizing equipment
grounding conductors
you could do that for 250.66 for sizing
grinding electrode conductors
you can do that for the articles article
210 branch circuits
215 feeders 225 which would be
outside brand circuits and feeders you
can do it for
any article and really test your
knowledge now we have a bunch of them
built in
but you can do that to test your
knowledge but i've got something else
for you
now let's say you're in the middle of
the program and you want to create your
own flash card in the middle of a
program check this out let's go to
cables
go to your reading material and as
you're going through the program let's
say i want to create
right here i want to create a reminder
flash card let's say to remind me
about the 1 16 inch thick nail plates
that are necessary when nmb penetrates
through say wood members and i want to
maintain that distance okay
well check this out where nails or
screws are likely to penetrate
non-metallic sheath cable
or electrical non-metallic tubing a
steel plate
clip or sleeve at least 1 16 of an inch
thick shall be used to protect the cable
the sheathing now see how i highlight
this with my left button held down on my
mouse
once i let up it creates this dialog
menu
add flash card check this out now we're
talking about 300.4 b2 right
watch this click that up here 300.4
b 2 and here it puts all the information
down in here
and so all i'm going to do is add this
to make sure it shows it is
as as we have it on the screen now watch
this
click save 300.4 b2
reminds me nail plates likely to
penetrate
metallic sheath cable or electrical
non-metallic tubing
the steel plate is at least 1 16 of an
inch and
thick and again you can do this
endlessly if i wanted to create another
one
let's say i wanted to create one for
let's just sue for feeders
so i want to learn the article so it's
article
215 and then down here i can put
feeders and click save now i created a
flash card for article 215. you click it
it's feeders so you can create these all
throughout the nec it doesn't matter
where you are
you can include these so i like to put
all of the ones that i create
in unit one but you can do it however
you want that's the power
of the program so let's kind of get it
back to me
and i will really get i get excited
about it because i'm telling you
it's endless what you can do with flash
cards and they are a powerful tool in
learning and understanding the national
electrical code
so that was the benefit number four or
the reason number four that you should
invest in the fast tracks program but
stay tuned
we're going to look at reason number
five and it is very ballistically
dynamic
so hopefully you're excited about that
and thank you for watching
and stay tuned it should pop up right
about right here
and then you can go to the next video
till next time stay safe
god bless shut up and sit down
